Road Assistance

Usually, having a tractor-trailer cut you off on the highway is a bad thing. But for Joanne Haplin, it may have saved her life. She was driving along a highway in West Virginia, when she suffered a heart attack and became unconscious. George Lantzy, a truck driver from Pennsylvania, noticed the car behaving erratically, and when he saw that the driver was slumped over the steering wheel, he used his vehicle to stop the car. He positioned the tractor-trailer in front of the car, allowed the car to hit the back of the truck, and then used his brakes to gradually slow it down.
