Forgiving the Unforgivable

In 1984, Ronald Cotton was accused of raping Jennifer Thompson-Cannino. She picked him out from a lineup as the attacker, and he ultimately went to prison for it. After 11 years, DNA evidence cleared him, and he was released. Most people would understandably hold on to the bitterness of those lost years, but Ronald found a way to forgive Jennifer. They forged a friendship, and together, they have written a book about their experiences and speak out on judicial reform.

hear them on The Diane Rehm show on Monday, March 9
